On September 28, 2026, Christie Lake Kids launched Say Yes to More Kids, a new campaign to give more Ottawa children and youth from low-income households access to opportunities, experiences and support that can make a real difference in their lives.
Christie Lake Kids currently provides approximately 1,200 program spots each year across its programs. The goal of Say Yes to More Kids is to raise $220,000 to create 300 additional spots, increasing its capacity to 1,500 program spots in the coming year.
Demand for Christie Lake Kids’ programs continues to grow as the rising cost of everyday necessities can put sports, arts, recreation and other opportunities out of reach for children and youth from low-income households. Christie Lake Kids helps remove barriers to participation by providing programs free of charge, along with equipment and, where needed, transportation. This gives children access to experiences that support their development and well-being.

For Christie Lake Kids, the challenge is capacity. With growing demand for programs, additional funding will allow us to open more spots and reach more children.
