About the Event Paddle for a Purpose

The Christie Lake Kids’ Canoe for Kids is returning for another year, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026! This half-day, all-ages event brings the community together to support Ottawa’s low-income children and youth.

Teams of six paddlers will take part in canoe races at Mooney’s Bay Beach on June 6, 2026, to help raise funds that send children to Christie Lake Kids’ cost-free, barrier-free summer camp. Funds cover meals, transportation, equipment, and other essentials, ensuring every child can fully participate and enjoy their camp experience.
