On Sunday, December 10, 2023, Christie Lake Kids (CLK) celebrated the season with children, families, and volunteers at their annual Holiday Party at the Masonic Centre. The event also marked the announcement of a $157,000 Sustainable Communities Fund Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF), which will support CLK’s recovery from Covid-19 by developing a comprehensive online communication strategy and launching a new website over the next two years.
Local MPP and OTF volunteer John Fraser attended to help acknowledge the impact of the grant. The celebration served as a joyful wrap-up to 2023 and a launch point for exciting programming in 2024.
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated,” said Adrienne Vienneau, Executive Director of Christie Lake Kids. “This grant will allow us to grow our online presence and become more resilient to change”.
Christie Lake Kids delivers no-cost programming in the after school and critical summer hours with a terrific summer camp. Thanks to the $157,000 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, we will be rolling out a new online communications strategy that includes a new website. This will allow us to continue to offer quality programming for low-income children and youth and have better online services that will increase our revenue and make us more competitive in the non-profit space.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) mission is to build healthy and vibrant communities across Ontario. As an agency of the Government of Ontario, and one of Canada’s leading granting foundations, last year, OTF invested over $110M into 1,022 community projects and partnerships.
